About Stella: Have you ever heard the saying, “singleton puppies are insane”? Stella is a singleton – and she certainly lives up to the reputation in the most entertaining way. Stella was a Christmas miracle puppy. After several unsuccessful attempts to breed her dam, Zara, we had nearly decided to retire her from breeding. Following advice from fellow breeders and friends in the show world, we made one final attempt before scheduling a spay. We patiently waited for signs of pregnancy, and just days before her scheduled x-ray, we finally felt puppy movement. That moment confirmed she was indeed expecting, and we were overjoyed. A pre-whelping x-ray revealed an even bigger surprise, Zara was carrying a single puppy. After more than 10 years of breeding, this was our first singleton litter. Stella was born via C-section on December 13, 2020. From the moment she arrived, she was deeply loved, and she was named immediately, our “Christmas star,” as Stella means star. Stella has since grown into our most wild and expressive girl. She is extremely vocal, known for her enthusiastic screaming, howling, and singing whenever she is excited, whether it’s in the morning, at mealtimes, coming inside, or even just after a short time apart. Her voice is simply part of who she is, and we’ve lovingly accepted her very loud personality. She is independent, strong-willed, and very much does things on her own terms, a true singleton in every sense. At the same time, Stella is incredibly affectionate and loves giving kisses, often enthusiastically washing your entire face. Despite her chaos and intensity, she holds a very special place in our hearts. Stella prefers her own family and takes a bit of time to warm up to strangers. We love you, Stella.
Achievements: Our beautiful, wild, and exceptionally intelligent Stella continues to impress us in everything she does. By less than 6 months of age, Stella had already earned both her Novice Trick Dog title and her 2-K9 Ruff Run title, an early reflection of her intelligence, drive, and eagerness to work. She carries an incredible amount of energy and has proven herself to be a true powerhouse in harness. Much like her dam Zara, Stella absolutely loves mushing and thrives in the working environment. She is one of our strongest sled dogs and excels in every position, including lead. She quickly became one of our primary leaders, and I feel very fortunate to have such a capable and reliable dog on my team. Together, Stella and Zara made a dynamic and highly effective duo on the sled. Alongside her sledding success, Stella (with her buddy Axel) earned her first three legs toward her Working Pack Dog title in 2023. We are looking forward to completing this title on future hiking adventures. In October 2023, Stella earned her 5K Equinox Explorer title, followed by her Triple Threat title in November 2023. We are incredibly proud of our Stelly-Belly and all that she continues to accomplish.
