About Glisten: We call Glisten our “cartoon character,” as she truly has a larger-than-life, animated personality that fits the description perfectly. Glisten absolutely loves affection and firmly believes she is a lap dog. Simply making eye contact with her is often enough to convince her that you want her right on top of you. Affectionately known as “Kissy,” she adores giving kisses, hugs, and especially cuddles. She is highly intelligent and enjoys learning new tricks and engaging in mental stimulation games. Glisten is eager to please and very responsive to her people, making her a wonderful and enjoyable companion to train and live with. Glisten is social and playful with other dogs and puppies, and she genuinely enjoys interactive play. She is also especially fond of people and children, always seeking out attention and interaction. Her personality is goofy, funny, and full of joy – she is often the dog who makes us laugh the most. Glisten has a big, expressive smile and a clear zest for life that shines through in everything she does. Overall, Glisten is an exceptional and deeply loved girl who brings joy, humour, and energy to our lives every day.
Achievements: Glisten entered the show ring at just 7 months of age and immediately made a strong impression. In her first weekend out, she earned three Reserve Winners Female placements and one Winners Female, along with Best of Winners and Best of Opposite (over specials, including her great-aunt). She also earned Best Puppy in Breed and went on to win Best Puppy in Group, securing a 3-point major toward her Canadian Championship. In her second weekend in the ring, Glisten continued her success with 2 of 3 Winners Female wins, 3 Best Puppy in Breed awards, and another Best of Opposite over specials. This left her with 7 points and all required majors at just 7 months of age. She completed her Canadian Championship in only her third weekend in the ring, going 3 for 3 Winners Female and Best Puppy in Breed each day. Glisten is also a natural in harness work. When first introduced to sledding, she took to it immediately and has since become a powerful, reliable wheel dog on our team. In 2020, she earned her Novice Trick Dog title, followed by her 2-K9 Ruff Run title in summer 2021. She also successfully completed Novice, Low Intermediate, and Intermediate agility levels, showing natural ability and enthusiasm in each discipline. Glisten was selected by the UNBC Animal Behaviour Lab to participate in a scientific behavioural study and graduated as a Science Dog. We are incredibly proud of Glisten and everything she continues to achieve, both in and out of the ring.
